Demand freedom for a journalist unjustly jailed in Ethiopia
Eskinder Nega is an Ethiopian journalist and human rights activist.
He has been subjected to outrageous injustices by the Ethiopian government, and is now serving an 18-year jail sentence for writing articles calling for freedom of expression and an end to torture.
Sadly, this is not the first time that Eskinder has been jailed for his activism. Eskinder and his wife, Serkalem, a newspaper publisher, were previously jailed for speaking out against the government in 2005 and released in 2007 after continued campaigning by Amnesty International.
The Ethiopian government is clamping down alarmingly on its citizens for speak out out against them, and this includes prominant journalists like Eskinder Nega.
Now silenced, Eskinder needs us to speak up for him, and be his voice.
